Meet Our Doctors

Michael Huet, O.D.

Dr. Michael Huet attended Penn State University where he participated in the Honors Program and won early acceptance to optometry school. He graduated in 1999 with a Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University in Philadelphia where he excelled academically and clinically.

His training included clinical internships at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and the Laurel Eye Clinic where he trained in ocular disease management, post-surgical management, glaucoma therapies and dry eye treatments.   Rotations at Salus University’s pediatric vision therapy and contact lens specialty departments completed his formal training.

His passion for eye care was realized when he opened his first private practice in Bridgeville, Pa. in 2001. He added a location in Ross Township in 2011 and most recently in Cranberry in 2013. In addition to actively pursuing continuing education to stay current with the latest in diagnostic and treatment technologies, he also has an interest in the latest trends in eyeglass and contact lens products available. Dr. Huet truly enjoys his work and the patients he serves.

Dr. Huet is actively involved with the Pennsylvania Optometric Society and the American Optometric Society. When Dr. Huet is not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife, Janice, and their four children. He also enjoys basketball, golfing, working out, and home renovation projects.

Janice Huet, O.D.

Dr. Janice Huet was born and raised in Albany, New York.  For her undergraduate studies, Dr. Huet attended the State University of New York at Genesco where she graduated with a B.S. in Biology.  She subsequently attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry and B.S. in Visual Sciences.

 

She completed internships at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, Laurel Eye Clinic in Brookville, PA, Allegheny General Hospital, and Martinelli Eye Clinic in Charleroi, PA. Pennsylvania State licensed in ocular pharmaceuticals and glaucoma, Dr. Huet diagnoses, treats, manages or co-manages all eye conditions. Dr. Huet has been practicing Optometry in Pittsburgh since 1999. She currently sees patients at the North Hills location.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Huet is actively involved in the children’s ministries at Saints John and Paul Parish and Covenant House for homeless youth. She also enjoys working out, reading and family outings with her husband, Michael, and their four children.

Amrita Kaur, O.D.

Dr. Amrita Kaur attended Case Western Reserve University for her undergraduate education with studies in Psychology and Fine Art. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she received Clinical Honors.

Her experience includes internships at Associates in Opthalmology, The Long Beach VA Hospital, Lawrenceville Vision Care, Optometric Care in Aliquippa, and a Pediatrics and Binocular Vision specialty at Salus University. In the exam room she enjoys contact lens fittings, pediatric optometry, surgical co-management, and takes particular interest in ocular disease and pathology.

Outside of the exam room, Dr. Kaur enjoys painting, drawing, playing tennis, dancing, and playing piano. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Western Pennsylvania Optometric Society, and American Diabetic Association. She is always happy to accept new patients.

Elmer W. Ebeck, O.D.

Elmer W. Ebeck, O.D., a Pittsburgh native, graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1974.  After graduation he worked with Myles M. Berk, M.D. at North Hills Passavant Hospital.  In 1980 he opened the first vision care practice in Cranberry Township and has been providing vision services to area residents ever since.

Because of his involvement in developmental optometry, he has always incorporated the use of lenses and prisms to improve performance in academic, sports, and occupational activities.  Dr. Ebeck continually attends workshops focusing on advancing optometric technologies,  vision therapy, contact lenses, glaucoma, and LASIK surgery.

Dr. Elmer Ebeck is the past-president and member of the Western Pennsylvania Optometric Association and treasurer of the Behavioral Vision Project.  He is a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Optometric Extension Program.  He is also a charter member of the Cranberry Area Lions Club.  When Dr. Ebeck is not at work he can be found on the ski slopes or spending time with his six grandchildren.

Joyce Cater, O.D.

Dr. Joyce Cater grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Case Western Reserve University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Afterwards, she received her Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University.

Her training included internships at the Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Parma, Ohio and Novus Clinic in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Cater practices full-scope optometry, with everything from wellness eye exams to challenging contact lens fittings to ocular disease management.

In her free time, Dr. Cater enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and exploring the Pittsburgh area with her husband.
